Kumogakure was founded after the end of war by the First Raikage. After the formation of their village, the First Konoha Hokage has sold "Tailed Beast" to Kumo as a sign of friendship and to ensure a balance of power between their new villages. The Second Raikage and Second Hokage had agree to maintain peace in their village officially, but the ceremony was interrupted by the "Gold and Silver Brothers" whom almost kill the Second Hokage. Konoha and Kumo ended the First World War Shinobi, with Kinkaku Force at the Kumo's side to kill the Second Hokage. Decades later, during the Third Shinobi World War, Kumo and Konoha fight back, with "A" in the Kumo and Minato Namikaze at the Konoha side. Following the death of the Third Raikage in a battle against 10 thousand of Konoha ninja's, "A" has succeeded him as the Fourth Raikage.

Kumogakure diasaskan selepas tamat peperangan Raikage Pertama. Tidak lama selepas pembentukan kampung mereka, Hokage Pertama Konoha telah menjual "Tailed Beast" kepada Kumo sebagai tanda persahabatan dan untuk memastikan keseimbangan kuasa di antara kampung-kampung baru mereka. Raikage Kedua dan Hokage Kedua telah bersetuju untuk mengekalkan keamanan di kampung mereka secara rasmi, tetapi majlis itu telah diganggu oleh "Gold & Silver Brothers" dan Hokage Kedua hampir dibunuh. Konoha dan Kumo menghentikan Peperangan Dunia Pertama Shinobi, dengan Kinkaku Force di pihak Kumo untuk membunuh Hokage Kedua. Sedekad kemudian, dalam Peperangan Dunia Shinobi Ketiga, Kumo dan Konoha berperang kembali, dengan "A" di pihak Kumo dan Minato Namikaze di pihak Konoha. Setelah kematian Raikage Ketiga ketika berperang dengn 10 ribu ninja konoha, "A" telah menggatikannya sebagai Raikage Keempat.
